Color removal is a common criterion linked to production of quality food products especially in sugar industry. A reliable and efficient color removal unit operations guarantee meeting consumers’ satisfaction, reduce cost of reprocessing and molasses production.
CSI takes pride of its extensive experience of conventional de–colorization processes `using granular activated carbon, ion exchange resins and its unique and patented innovations in the area of color and turbidity removal widely used in sugar industry.. These covers:
- Design of new color and turbidity removal units from scratch, assuring the most cost-effective and suitable technology that matches the environmental regulations.
- Assessment of exiting unit design of phosphatation units and clarifiers, carbonation saturators and their auxiliaries, carbon-based color removal units, and ion exchange resin-based color removal units.
- Assessment and benchmarking of the cost of operation.
- Help maximize the efficiency of decolorization by adopting revamping of the design and/or Supply of specially formulated process aids to help better colorremoval, better floatation, highest flux flow through filters and least waste disposal cost.
- Replacement of conventional manual and semi-automatic granular activated carbon systems with modern and fully automated HPA systems.
- Replacement of high effluent discharge ion exchange resin based de-colorization system with modern and fully automated, low waste and zero effluent discharge HPA systems.
