Carbo Solutions International has been assisting several molasses-based distilleries, performing an objective, scientific study and evaluation of the current process, with emphasis on yields, productivity and efficiency for the quantity a quality of the desired product(s) and the technology and equipment used.
This diagnostic-study is the search for opportunities of improvement of the process by reviewing and discussing the current process, going through logs and reports, walking through the plant facilities and reviewing process control philosophy and methods, always trying to find room for improvement.
Time is taken for interaction with plant managers and personnel, discussing alternatives for improvements and evaluating possible changes in procedures, equipment and strategies.
Nowadays, because of environmental regulations, treatment and disposition of liquid effluents is an important issue. Carbo Solutions International has developed the Zero Effluent Distilleries (ZED) concept. *Patent pending.
The Audit calls for a thorough review of the main factors affecting Ethanol process, such as feedstock, dilution water, steam and air quality; Asepsis and cleanliness of materials & equipment; yeast propagation kinetics, proper dosing of nutrients, micronutrients, antibiotics and other additives;
Control of process variables: pH, Temperature, dilution rate, desired Ethanol content in fermented mash, etc.
The final product is a de-briefing report, along with a state- of -the -art lecture, to present not only the ¨know how¨ but specially the ¨know why ¨ that support the recommendations
